This is the 2008 UKTA Scotland Squad who won Silver at the UKTA 4 Nations Championships on 22nd November 2008. To be eligible for selection you must attend at least 75% of squad training sessions.

John Reilly

V Degree
John Reilly is a 5th Degree Black Belt and has trained in Taekwon-Do for 20 years. John achieved his Black Belt at the age of 15, taking 2 years and 9 months to achieve this. John has been overall British, Scottish, English and Welsh champion on several occasions. He is also a former Scottish National Squad member from 1994-1996 and he promoted to 5th Degree at the age of 29.

Dougie
Macfarlan

IV Degree
Dougie is a 4th Degree Black Belt and began training in 1986. He has been the British Champion on 4 occasions and was a member of the Scottish National Team in 1991. Dougie successfully attained his 4th Degree in March 2007.

Thomas
McMillan

II Degree
Thomas McMillan is 20 years old and a 2nd Degree Black Belt. He began training in Taekwon-Do in 1997 and succesfully attained his 1st Degree in March 2005 and his 2nd Degree in March 2007. He is a multiple National Champion in the sparring event. He is also a Chang Ung Cup gold medallist and recently won gold for Black Belt -85kg sparring at the English Open Championships in March 2008.

Alan
Rafferty

II Degree
Alan is 23 years old and a 2nd Degree black belt. He began training in Taekwon-Do in 2001 and he succesfully passed his 2nd Degree in March 2007 and achieved an Advanced Level 'A' Pass at this time. Alan is a multiple National Champion in Patterns and Sparring events and recently won gold for 2nd Degree patterns and silver for sparring at the English Open Championships in March 2008.

Graham
MacDougall

II Degree
Graham MacDougall is a 2nd Degree black belt and began training in Taekwon-Do in 1990. Graham has trained in Perth Scotland, Chicago, Dublin, Edinburgh, London and Glasgow! He passed his black belt in 2002 and has been national sparring champion on several occasions at middleweight.

Ryan is a 2nd Degree Black Belt.

I Degree
Paul is a 1st Degree black belt having passed this in March 2008.
